Hebrews 11:21

​By faith Jacob, when he was dying, blessed each of Joseph’s sons

and worshipped as he leaned on his staff. 

​For the Hebrew people the words of blessing were seen as a prophetic act. To bless the children and grandchildren is to invite God to act in their lives for their good and for the shaping of their character within the people of God.  Taking our cue from the blessings mentioned in Hebrews 11: 2-18 we will bless the next generation.

Father, we look two generations ahead

to our grandchildren,

to the middle of this century,

and wonder what life will be like

for them.

Bless the grandchildren we can name….....................

and the generations yet unborn,

that they may grow up to know You

and to be world-shaping followers of Jesus Christ.
