Sanctuary First Community Guidelines
Our community guidelines have been created to encourage conversations that reflect our values. The Sanctuary first online community should be a place where people are respected, valued and made to feel welcome.
By creating a profile on Sanctuary First and engaging with the Sanctuary First’s Community I agree to:
- Be safe. The safety of all people that are a part of the Sanctuary First community must be maintained, this particularly applies to: children, young people and vulnerable adults. If you have any concerns, or notice any comments or posts that infringe this these infringements should be reported, and you can contact Sanctuary First directly office@sanctuaryfirst.org.uk
- Be respectful. Do not post or share content that is hateful, abusive, sexually explicit, inflammatory, threatening or otherwise disrespectful to others.
- Be kind. Treat others how you would wish to be treated and assume the best in people. If you have a criticism or critique to make, consider not just whether you would say it in person, but the tone you would use. Differing views are welcomed at Sanctuary First however it is important that they are conveyed in a way that is respectful to others.
- Be honest. Don’t mislead people about who you are.
- Take responsibility. You are accountable for the things you do, say and write on Sanctuary First. Text and images shared can be public and permanent, even with privacy settings in place. If you’re not sure, don’t post it.
- Be a good ambassador. Personal and professional life can easily become blurred online so think before you post.
- Disagree well. Some conversations can be places of robust disagreement and it’s important we apply our values in the way we express them.
- Credit others. Acknowledge the work of others. Respect copyright and always credit where it is due. This applies as well to Sanctuary First contributors and community members alike. Be careful not to release sensitive or confidential information and always question the source of any content you are considering amplifying.
- Creating a Safe space. If you see a comment or post that you believe breaks our policies, and community guidelines then please report it to us so that we may maintain a community space that is safe and welcoming.
