In my first book I wrote about all the things that Jesus did and taught from the time he began his work until the day he was taken up to heaven

Think
The Ascension (Jesus taken up to heaven) was also a new beginning for God: his rule was no longer located just in a country in the Middle East, but established as over all the universe. Therefore Jesus is with us, at work in us, in all the world, and for all we know far beyond that.

Pray
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be your name,
Your kingdom come
Your will be done
On earth as in heaven.

God, our poets have written about their hopes, about what might be ‘comin’ yet’, and we too pray for your rule to be known and accepted by humankind. We do not yet see our brothers and sisters ruling properly over all things, as promised in scripture, but we see Jesus, we see him crowned with glory and honour, we discover him leading us to salvation.
For today’s pilgrim journey, we seek the wisdom and the touch of your Spirit. Amen.
