John 1:1-5;14

In the beginning was the Word
And the Word was God
He was with God in the beginning
Through him all things were made
Without him nothing was made that has been made
In him was life
And that life was the light of men.
The light shines in the darkness
But the darkness has not understood it.
The Word became flesh
And made his dwelling among us.
We have seen his glory
The glory of the One and Only
Who came from the Father,
Full of grace and truth.

Lord there is a new smart phone out
It looks great, I really want one!
The latest technology
Connecting people
Amazing photography
Information at the touch of a finger tip
Money well spent.
It’s a thing of beauty
capturing my attention and imagination
I can’t put it down
Or switch it off
Facebook, email, Google, texts,
I might miss something.

Oh Lord keep me from idols
Wrapped in bright colours
And appealing design
Keep me from coveting
That which can be good
But has the potential to enslave me
Your Word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path
Your word is available
At the touch of a fingertip
It is a thing of great beauty
Connecting people
Capturing my attention and imagination
Never let me put it down
I might miss something!
