Bearing God’s Image
Ruth 2:22
Naomi said to Ruth, “Yes, daughter, it will be better for you to work with the women in Boaz’ field. You might be molested if you went to someone else’s field.” So Ruth worked with them and gathered grain until all the barley and wheat had been harvested. And she continued to live with her mother-in-law.
Quote
D. Bonhoeffer from ‘Life Together’ “I can no longer condemn or hate a brother for whom I pray, no matter how much trouble he causes me.”
We may well hear difficult news today
from our media - local and international
Of our brothers and sisters being killed, hurt or molested.
We pray with compassion for those damaged, hurt and injured
and in Christ’s name and as His people
we pray for those responsible.
They are not aliens created by a lesser God,
but are humans, bearing your image.
You call us to challenge them through love and in love
To change their directions, admit their faults and
be all they were created to be.
