A Word Spoken Then Sown Into The Heart
Isaiah 55:10-11
Isaiah 55. 10-11
“My word is like the snow and the rain
that come down from the sky to water the earth.
They make the crops grow
and provide seed for planting and food to eat.
11 So also will be the word that I speak—
it will not fail to do what I plan for it;
it will do everything I send it to do.
Matt 13. 23
And the seeds sown in the good soil stand for those who hear the message and understand it: they bear fruit, some as much as one hundred, others sixty, and others thirty.”
The parable of the sower highlights the power and potential of the seed. When God’s word takes root in the heart of an individual it brings about transformation. The prophet Isaiah was so confident about this that he spoke on God’s behalf to those who would listen. He said, God’s word will not return unto him void. It will always accomplish what it has set out to do. We should all take great encouragement from this truth. The Word of God that has been buried in your heart will never die. Even now it is working to bring about God’s purpose for your life.
God of the future
God of the past
God of the present
Hear my prayer
Stir into life your word
That has been planted in my heart.
In the small things
Teach me to be faithful
That I might serve with humility
Give me the courage to obey
The still small voice
speaking your word into my heart
Give me the gift of expectation
The strength to grow
And the perception to know
The guidance of the Spirit
In all my decision making
