Week 80 - 'Ourselves' in sketching pencil or coloured pencil or pastel pencil

This week we're drawing ourselves in pencil either coloured pencils or sketching pencils (normal HB or softer such as 2B, 4B, 6B)

Take a selfie of yourself with your phone (or better still get someone else to take it for a more flattering photo !!). If you want to make it monochrome, use the photo editor on your phone to turn the 'saturation' to the lowest number you can. That will make it black and white.

Join us every Tuesday morning from 11am to 12.15/12.30pm to draw/paint together every week. It will be a time of drawing and painting and conversation. Complete beginners are very welcome.

If you are able to print out the image to have it beside you whilst drawing, hopefully you'll find this helpful on the day. Otherwise, you can perhaps view it on your phone ?

If you have time to pre sketch the outline, that'll make it faster but do not worry if you don't manage to do so. If you don't have a photo of yourself, you can always sketch me instead !!

What you'll need

A selection of coloured pencils or pastel pencils

OR sketching pencils (ordinary HB or 2B, 4B, 6B, 8B will help as they are softer & blend better for the shadows)

An eraser

Smooth paper of any size - A4/A3

How do i join?

The zoom link to join will appear above on this page at 11AM on Tuesdays. To join you will need a phone/tablet or laptop with a built in camera and microphone (most modern devices come with this) you may need to download the zoom app onto your phone if you are using a phone to join.
