Week 57 - Geisha in acrylics

This week we're painting using acrylic paints

The image we're using is by a recognised artist however this is my attempt at recreating this shown here.

If you are able to sketch it before the group, feel free to do so to save time in the group and avoid us rushing.

Join us every Tuesday morning from 11am to 12.15/12.30pm to draw/paint together every week. It will be a time of drawing and painting and conversation. Complete beginners are very welcome.

If you are able to print out the image to have it beside you whilst drawing, hopefully you'll find this helpful on the day. Otherwise, you can perhaps view it on your phone ?

What you'll need

You'll need an eraser and a pencil too to sketch it out

flat brushes in small, medium and large

good strong paper in A4 or A3

acrylic paints in black and white plus if you have them, coloured acrylic paint pens (POSCA or similar) - if not, other colours of paint will do fine, put on with a smaller brush.

Look out your hairdryer to speed up the drying process in between colours

How do i join?

The zoom link to join will appear above on this page at 11AM on Tuesdays. To join you will need a phone/tablet or laptop with a built in camera and microphone (most modern devices come with this) you may need to download the zoom app onto your phone if you are using a phone to join.
