Week 46 - An Autumn Walk in Pastels

This week we're going to draw a loose Autumn scene in soft pastels  - If you have pastel pencils you'll be more able to do the fine detail of the fur but pastel sticks will also suffice.

Join us every Tuesday morning from 11am to 12.15/12.30pm to draw/paint together every week. It will be a time of drawing and painting and conversation. Complete beginners are very welcome.

If you are able to print out the image to have it beside you whilst drawing, hopefully you'll find this helpful on the day. Otherwise, you can perhaps view it on your phone ?

What you'll need

A rule and eraser and pastel pencil (or pencil) for sketching rough outime

Good quality pastel paper (or grade 800-1000 grit sandpaper) in A4 or A3

A selection of soft pastels and/or pastel pencils

A small cup of turpentine/white spirit/surgical spirit or any clear alcohol (e.g. gin, vodka)

A pointed paintbrush - medium size

Kitchen paper for wiping hands & avoiding smudging

How do i join?

The zoom link to join will appear above on this page at 11AM on Tuesdays. To join you will need a phone/tablet or laptop with a built in camera and microphone (most modern devices come with this) you may need to download the zoom app onto your phone if you are using a phone to join.
