Week 111 - Sailboats in soft pastels

Hello Everyone

And we're back from our very busy July and August, and holiday in September - now to do some lovely art from October to December

Hope you will join me online this week where we'll work on using soft pastels to draw some colourful sailboats

We will meet every Tuesday morning from 11am to 12.15pm to draw/paint together. No experience needed. Complete beginners are very welcome.

Isaiah 18:1-3

Go, swift messengers, to a people tall and smooth-skinned, to a people feared far and wide, an aggressive nation of strange speech, whose land is divided by rivers.

Nothing to pre-sketch this week as we'll just do the painting very loosely with soft pastel sticks and pastel pencils for the finer details

If you are able to print out the image to have it beside you whilst drawing, hopefully you'll find this helpful on the day. Otherwise, you can perhaps view it on your phone as this will allow you to zoom in on the detail also ?

What you'll need

Pastel Paper or very fine sandpaper suitable for soft pastels

Sticky tape (decorators masking tape is best) to hold the paper down to your desk/table

Any size of paper (A3 is best or even larger)

A selection of soft pastels and pastel pencils

Kitchen paper to wipe your hands on

How do i join?
