You Help Me Rise Again

2 Corinthians 4:7-11

"But we have this treasure in earthen vessels,  that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. We are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed— always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.”

There is something marvellous about people who never give up. People who stay the course - despite the circumstances. We need more people in the church today who are prepared to stay for the long haul.  In the words of Eugene Peterson people who understand their call as a ‘Long Obedience In The Same Direction” This kind of obedience is truly, “treasure in earthen vessels”

Father, Son and Holy Spirit

Your grace is truly sufficient

Your presence overwhelming

Your hand protects me from being crushed

You help me rise again

When perplexed your voice says I need not despair

You give me hope again

When persecuted and broken 

You guarantee I’ll never be destroyed

You make me whole again

Thank you for placing such treasure in my soul

You c’os me to sing

Of your constant goodness
