yellow
Psalm 19:8
The commandments of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are clear, giving insight for living.
Reverence for the Lord is pure,
lasting forever.
The laws of the Lord are true;
each one is fair.
They are more desirable than gold,
even the finest gold.
They are sweeter than honey,
even honey dripping from the comb.
They are a warning to your servant, a great reward for those who obey them.

Yellow for joy
Yellow, from its palest lemon to its richest gold is full of sunshine and joy. Our breakfast eggs are ‘sunny side up’ and if we are to ‘always look on the bright side of life’, we’ll need some sunshine to achieve it.
Prayer
Lord, I long to have a sunny life, filled with brightness and joy; free of sadness and pain, but it doesn’t always work out that way – for me, or for those I love.
The Bible reminds me of your Holy Spirit coming to frightened, depressed disciples, so I can see how your presence in ordinary lives chases away fear, builds confidence, and enables positive action.
Look upon me, Lord, and those known and unknown to me, on our low days – especially folk who are in the midst of depression – and gently bring the light of your presence, to lift our mood and build our confidence.
As a Christian, may I find joy in your presence, and carry it with me in all the things I have to do today, however daunting or humdrum they may seem.
May your laws and guidance inspire my dealings with others, guard my words, and keep my peace.
And may I know that the challenge and the joy of walking each day with you, will bring me that great reward, through Jesus Christ my Lord.
Amen.
