Wise Up
James 1:13-17
When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.
Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
It seems as though there is just too much to do. They all want a bit of me. Or am I just too full of my own self importance and I am just kidding myself. Help me come before you and examine myself. By your spirit do a work in me.
Help me to pace myself today please Father. You can see that I can’t keep going like this. I start off spiriting but just run out of energy and it gets me. Please show me how to wise up. Remind me that you were never in a hurry, that you embraced interruptions.
Lord, I know that when I’m weary the devil gets a foot-hold. Help me please to wise up , I sense he’s making inroads and I want to resist. Let me see that you are so much more, that in you I have the victory.
Lord I call on your name, the name of Jesus, the author and finishers of my faith.
Amen
