The hospital bed – this is my mission space
Psalm 68: 4-5
Sing to God, sing in praise of his name, and extol him who rides on the clouds rejoice before him — his name is the Lord. A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.
Lord I am here at this hospital bed,
caring for this lady, this widow, whom you love.
She is sick, very sick.
As I turn her, wash her, feed her, comfort her, calm her,
help me to minister your grace, to show your love, to pray for her.
Lord may I show kindness and patience to her family, to care for them as you care for them.
This bed, and the others in the ward, is my mission space.
I praise you Lord that you entrust these people to me.
Keep me focused on you as I work so that people can encounter through me,
something of your love for them
