Small things, big difference,
Matthew 13:31-32
The Parables of the Mustard Seed and the Yeast
31 He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field.
32 Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.”
‘The smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.’
Are you encouraging and welcoming to the birds, hose who come to rest in the branches?
Do you invest your time in others so that they know that they are welcome in God’s kingdom?
Matthew records later in his gospel that Jesus told his followers to ‘make disciples’ that’s not just telling people about Jesus but sharing life with them so that they see how your faith in Christ shapes your every day life.
Do you regularly share your life with others, allowing them to see you so that they can imitate you and grow in their own faith?
God’s kingdom is here, and is spreading and growing – one life at a time!
What #smallthing might you do today?
Lord
I’m beginning to see how small things can make a big difference,
How little things that I do in my life can make a big impact in the life of others,
You are the God of life,
Birth new life in me,
Renew my energy and commitment to make the small changes in my life that will open the door to life for others
And encourage me to reach out and welcome those who come through it,
In your name
Amen.
