Romans 8.25

But if we hope for what we don’t see, we wait for it with patience.

and the world you are creating,

God, in your good and gracious purpose, reintegrate us with all you have promised. Reconstruct our foundations, reinvigorate the fabric of our lives. We live between two great advents; may the Lord Jesus come daily by his Spirit into our waiting; may we know how to be patient with kingdom life, and impatient with all that denies it.

And in the meantime, we pray as Jesus taught us:

Our Father in heaven:
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come, 
your will be done on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.
Save us from the time of trial
and deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power and the glory
are yours, now and for ever.   Amen.
