My Place
Listen to this daily worship
Psalm 32: 7 (NRSVA)
7 You are a hiding-place for me;
you preserve me from trouble;
you surround me with glad cries of deliverance. Selah
When I say you are my hiding place
I mean it.
Hiding with you
is holding the universe in my shirt pocket.
Hiding with you is holding my head high.
Hiding with you is breathing in the promise
that gets me up and out of bed.
Hiding with you is knowing that I will not be lost
in the throng
in the weeds
in the maze
for I am found.
Hiding with you is chuckling in the face of disappointment and defeat
hiding with you is knowing I belong
When I say you are my hiding place.
I mean it.
PRAYER:
Hiding Place,
You are a sanctuary for our souls
where we can tuck ourselves in
Not to hibernate from the world
but a perch where we can rest and be renewed.
Shelter us in your love
in your world.
Help us to recharge and recoup
to regain our confidence
give us the strength
of the den, of base camp, of the hideaway
to fuel us on for the adventure.
On and on.
Amen
Lent Disciplines
LENT FOCUS 1: PLACE
We begin by focusing on ‘place’ — one of the themes in the first week of our Daily Worship. Pray this week for people who feel they don’t have a place, that they might start to feel they belong. Pray for places that need restoration and repair. Pray that we take good care of the places entrusted to us.
