Humble my Heart

Deuteronomy 8:1-3

Be careful to follow every command I am giving you today, so that you may live and increase and may enter and possess the land the LORD promised on oath to your ancestors.  Remember how the LORD your God led you all the way in the wilderness these forty years, to humble and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands. He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.

My Lord!

My God!

Humble my heart!

For only you know of a truly humble heart!

You are the only King to leave His Kingdom to be with us.

You are the only King to show us the path of righteousness with grace, mercy, and gentleness.

You are the only King to take the blame for our sin, to stand accused for all mankind, and to give His life that we would be saved.

You are the only King to have defeated death so that we will forever be free from Hell’s grasp.

My Lord!

My God!

Humble my heart!

As you gave your life for me, I surrender my life to you.

Be the first and the last in my heart and soul.

Let the grievances of my human nature be washed away,

wherever I am,

so that your love and Glory shine from my heart.

My Lord!

My God!

Humble my heart!

Amen
