Change My Heart

Psalm 51: 10-13

Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Do not cast me from your presence
or take your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of your salvation
and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.
Then I will teach transgressors your ways,
so that sinners will turn back to you.

Lord,
Is it all right to continue yesterday’s discussion?
I would like to ask your help and forgiveness
I’m sorry about yesterday’s rant
I’m sorry that I’ve got all this pent up anger inside
Its strange.
It only comes to the surface 
When I feel or encounter certain triggers
The discussion earlier this week about work and service got to me.
How do I encourage others to serve?
Work has the reward of wages 
but service comes from the heart

Lord,
I can’t change a heart 
But you can
So change my heart 
And change the heart of those I live and work alongside
Give me the courage to pray like St Francis

“Oh Master grant that I may never seek
so much to be consoled as to console
to be understood as to understand
to be loved as to love with all my soul
For it is in giving that we receive 
In pardoning that we are pardoned
And in dying we are born to eternal life”
