Isaiah 58: 12

12 Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins
    and will raise up the age-old foundations;
you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls,
    Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.

In the drama 'Broken', within Father Michael’s parish, people face one another in anger. There has been verbal abuse. There has been violence. Distrust of the police is at a high level. An awareness of exploitative gambling has led to widespread destruction of machines. In the midst of it all Michael leads worship, prays with the broken and seeks a way through in Christ. 

Father, we stand before the unrest in so many communities throughout the world.

We are shocked by the cruelty, the hatred, the intolerance.

Help us to hold against all of this the hope that in Christ we can restore the streets as places where families are safe, where the downhearted can find encouragement, where the marginalised can experience community.
