Beloved
Song of Solomon 7: 10-12
I am my beloved’s,
and his desire is for me.
Come, my beloved,
let us go forth into the fields,
and lodge in the villages;
let us go out early to the vineyards,
and see whether the vines have budded,
whether the grape blossoms have opened
and the pomegranates are in bloom.
There I will give you my love.
Lord, it seems inconceivable
That you love me
That you want to spend time with me
That you think I am worth this.
Yet your word shows
The depth and height, length and breadth
Of the love you have for me.
And you have plans for me
To journey with you in this world.
To plant, tend and reap
In the garden you have created.
And in that garden
Where all humanity live and breathe
Your love is displayed
And can be shown
Through me
