Abba!
Listen to this daily worship
Galatians 4: 4-7 (NRSVA)
4 But when the fullness of time had come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 in order to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as children. 6 And because you are children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, ‘Abba! Father!’ 7 So you are no longer a slave but a child, and if a child then also an heir, through God.
We are the precious children of our Heavenly Daddy.
We are the very image of him!
Precious children loved beyond measure.
Loved so much
That our Daddy sacrificed part of his own being,
in order to save us from harm and secure our future with him.
Can we feel, see and hear the love our Daddy has for us?
Can we feel his strong arms around us?
Comforting,
Guiding our way?
Can we see the apple in our Daddy’s eye reflected back to us?
Or the beaming smile when he sees us?
Do we accept our birthright?
Or do we turn away?
And do we recognise our Daddy’s love for our brothers and sisters?
That unconditional, sacrificial, all-consuming love?
The love that makes us all equal.
Do we see our Daddy’s image shining from our brothers and sisters?
Even from the ones we don’t like?
Even the one who annoy us,
Disgust us,
Hurt us?
Do we accept their birthright?
Or do we turn away?
PRAYER:
Abba,
We are your children
You love
You forgive
You transform
Help us to do the same
Amen.
