A Prayer While Making A Cuppa
Listen to this daily worship
Matthew 11: 28-30 (NRSVA)
28 ‘Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.’
I am what they call a Tea-Jenny!
I have loved a cuppa tea since I was a girl. A cup of tea is a blether, a comfort, heat on a cold day, energy in a busy spell. A cup of tea is the love of a friend, sharing laughter, sharing joy, sharing pain, sharing disappointment.
A cup of tea is life-giving…so thinks the woman who needs two cups of tea before she can do anything in the morning!
PRAYER:
Jesus, my Lord and Saviour,
As the song says, what a friend I have in you.
As I take this moment
To stop and have a cuppa
Take from me the burdens I carry
All that weighs me down
As you share my load
Fill me with your light
Amen
