A new compass for work
Colossians 3:1-4
Colossians 3:1-4,22-24,4:1
If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. ………Slaves, obey in everything those who are your earthly masters, not by way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. For the wrongdoer will be paid back for the wrong he has done, and there is no partiality…..Masters, treat your slaves justly and fairly, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven.
God of Resurrection
Thank you for the compass and bearing you bring to life.
Thank you that I have a new and living hope
which I can work out in my daily life
a real hope and a practical hope.
As I dig, and as I clean,
As I serve and as advise,
As I manage and as I counsel
As I lead and as I follow
Help me to set my mind on things above
And work it out in things below.
Give us grace to live the story you have given us
To serve and lead well
Engaging and not abdicating
Releasing and not binding
In the power of Your name
Amen
