The Journey is made on the way
Week 1 - The Call to Go - Prayers that speak of biblical stories for which we can learn about the call of God on all our lives. The call is not just for preachers and teachers, It is for everyone. Week 2 - Taking up and laying down - Prayers that help us to engage with the dialogue of obedience. What do we need to take, to be a people on the road. The place of the Bible in our lives. The sustenance we receive from Holy Communion. The importance of Water and Baptism as we make new disciples. What do we leave behind? Week 3 - Tuned in to the Present and the Presence of the Moment. As we journey on the Christian path we discover new things everyday. What does it mean to have our eyes open and our ears tuned to the creation around us and to the Holy Spirit within us. Week 4 - To Journey in Community. The Christian is never invited to walk alone. We are part of a great Community or Communion of Saints. In Hebrews we are reminded of those who cheer on. Those who have kept the faith. Week 5 - Journeying with Jesus incognito. Prayers or conversations with Jesus as a 21st Century pilgrim/disciple. Week 6 - When the destination appears futile. Prayers or conversations with Jesus around his journey to the cross asking question like - Why, how, if? Week 7 - The Journey back from Resurrection to Glory. Prayers engaging with the journey that enables us to return to the starting point with a different defiant perspective. A journey that enables us to believe the Kingdom has come and we are called to announce the Good News.
