Songs of Deliverance

The ABC of Christian discipleship begins with three steps which bring about change in our hearts and lives. The first step is accepting the call of Jesus to follow him. The second step is to recognise we are called to belong to the body of Christ which is the church and to seek its unity. Thirdly being commitment to the cause, which is to share the good news that the mistakes of our past lives can be forgiven and all are welcome in the family of God. Perhaps the fourth step could be seen as a lifelong commitment to Discipleship. This year our Advent theme will concentrate on stories and songs that speak of the hope of deliverance. There are so many people and places in our world that require to be delivered from war, famine and illness. This Christmas our message to the world must be one of hope. A message that speaks of Jesus the Saviour of the world who is still delivering men and women from darkness into light.
