Art and Painting Workshop

Join the Sanctuary First team at Refuel for an online and in person Creative Worshop on art and painting.

Interested in learning to paint? Perhaps you were told in school that you couldn't draw? This is the Art Club for you!

During this worksop you will learn to create watercolour painted cards and book marks. We will be using water colours, so if you are joining online be sure to have these paints with you, if you are joining us in person, we will provide paints in the tent.

What do you need to join? Nothing at all, come along in person or online.

If you are joining in person head over to the Sanctuary First tent at Refuel and we will see you there.

If you are joining online to join online simply click the link on this page at 11am and come in via Zoom.

Simple flowers & butterflies in watercolour

This week we'll be a mixture of live in person from our tent at the Refuel Summer Festival and live online. It's a shorter group than usual (due to the packed Refuel timetable) so we're working on something quite simple today - Please join promptly if you can !

We're drawing simple flowers & butterflies in watercolour and ink to create a bookmark OR a gift card

Complete beginners are very welcome.

If you are able to print out the image to have it beside you whilst drawing, hopefully you'll find this helpful on the day. Otherwise, you can perhaps view it on your phone ?

What you'll need

A selection of watercolour paints, or watercolour pencils

A permanant fine black marker pen

For the bookmark, you'll need strong white paper (ideally 300-400gsm) cut to 60mm x 170/180mm

For the card, you'll need A5 strong white card folded in half (or A4 paper folded in half then in half again to form a card shape)

A jug of water

Kitchen roll for dabbing brush & blotting excess paint

How do i join?

To join you will need a phone/tablet or laptop with a built in camera and microphone (most modern devices come with this) you may need to download the zoom app onto your phone if you are using a phone to join.
