A Wild Saviour by our Side
Listen to this daily worship
Luke 24: 13-16 (NRSVA)
13 Now on that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem, 14 and talking with each other about all these things that had happened. 15 While they were talking and discussing, Jesus himself came near and went with them, 16 but their eyes were kept from recognising him.
Whether or not a person belongs to the company of Jesus, we humans say all kinds of things, domestic and wild:
News talk, neighbour talk,
family talk, friend talk,
work talk, worry talk,
flow talk, no talk,
which talk will end talk,
mend talk, send talk
on mad tongue, glad tongue,
mild tongue, wild tongue?
Yes, we say all manner of things, and just to be able to give tongue is a privilege, whether by mouth or media.
Pray:
Lord, keep watch over the door of my lips, but at the same time open my mouth, and my tongue will declare your praise – especially when I sense you falling into step beside me (though I know it should be the other way round). May it happen, this week and every week. Amen.
