Who could stand?
James 2:2
‘Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in shabby clothes also come in. If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, ‘Here’s a good seat for you,’ but say to the poor man, ‘You stand there’ or Sit on the floor by my feet,’ have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?’
Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him.
The Lord does not look at the things man looks at.
Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.
I am so thankful Lord that you are a seeker of hearts
And the binder of wounds
That you examine our hearts and know everything about us
And we are acceptable in your sight, because of Jesus, because of grace
If you Lord, kept a record of sin,
Lord who could stand, who could stand?
Please keep me from becoming a judge Lord
Of seeking to fill your house
Or inviting into my home
Only the right kind of people
Some have entertained angels
Without knowing it
And even as I am accepted
Help me accept my brother and sister
Not on the basis of what they wear
Or what they do, or where they went to school
Help me look for the trace of Jesus in their lives
Even as someone looked for it in me
