When the storm is over
Listen to this daily worship
Psalm 40: 1-3 (NRSVA)
1
I waited patiently for the Lord;
he inclined to me and heard my cry.2
He drew me up from the desolate pit,
out of the miry bog,
and set my feet upon a rock,
making my steps secure.3
He put a new song in my mouth,
a song of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear,
and put their trust in the Lord.
When the storm is over. When the worst is through and you’re sure on your feet… the divinely inspired human response... is to belt out a song!
It’s time to GIE IT LALDY!
PRAYER:
Lord in Heaven
We’re going to gie it laldy,
holding nothing back
as we feel the texture
of a new song
as it ricochets off our gums
and into your world.
The breath rises,
taking on sounds
as it bends round our teeth and tongues
and bursts past our lips
free worship
new words
for ancient emotions.
We’re here
we’re alive
we are grateful.
Amen.
