Don’t look for shortcuts to God. The market is flooded with surefire, easygoing formulas for a successful life that can be practiced in your spare time. Don’t fall for that stuff, even though crowds of people do. The way to life—to God!—is vigorous and requires total attention.

Lord,
Sometimes I get fed up waiting 
I want things to happen right now
I guess I’m a product of an instant society
Forgive me when I go looking for short cuts
When I try to find an easy way out
When I turn away from the difficult road
When I make excuses
When I buy the easygoing formulas looking for success
When I wish things could be easier
Help me focus on the right things
You call me to give my full attention to the moment
To live in power and expectation during the waiting times
To see the waiting times as growing times - preparing for harvest.
