The Promise of Peace

Micah 4:3

​“He will judge between many peoples and will settle disputes for strong nations far and wide. They will beat their swords into ploughshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore”

​Lord,

how long do we have to wait for this promise to be fulfilled?

Everywhere I look there seems to be disputes, divisions and conflict.

Why don’t you do something?

Then again…maybe that’s what you’re asking me,

“Why don’t you do something?”

Am I just afraid to be a peacemaker

because I know from Jesus

how costly that can be?

Lord, can we do this together?

For everybody’s sake—

but most of all for yours.
