The nanostructure designer
Matthew 13:20-21
“ As for what was sown on rocky ground, this is the one who hears the word and immediately oreceives it with joy, 21 yet he has no root in himself, but pendures for a while, and when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the word, immediately he falls away . Matthew 13.20-21
When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?Psalm 8. 34
Our reading today reminds us of our caring and loving God. The implications for us is that we are called to ensure that all men and woman are treated and valued equally that we don’t give up on each other. Pray that the word of God sown into your life today will not fall on rocky ground. Its easy to make an instant response to see potential but give up when things get tough. Today we read in the psalm that God never gives up on us.
#small things
Lord,
You tell us you’re interested in detail.
The detail of all of our lives
You count hairs on heads
And you know about birds and feathers
Even the ones that fall to the ground
I find it all hard to grasp!
Yet, you are God!
You are the nanostructure designer
Nothing is too small,
or insignificant for you
A piece of paper for printing
is about 75,000 nanometers thick.
I’m told a single strand of DNA,
is about three nanometers wide.
You are a God who works in minute detail
Counting and caring
Knowing and loving
Remembering and recycling
All part of your nature
Forgive me
When I make a fuss about small things
Then ignore the small things
When I lose small things
Then count small as insignificant
When I fail to stick with the small idea
Failing to see its potential
Lord,
Your #small
leaves me dumbstruck
Your creative ingenuity is matchless
from the vastness of space
to a strand of DNA
I am left to wonder
And praise your imagination!
