The people who walked in darkness
have seen a great light;
those who lived in a land of deep darkness—
on them light has shined.
It’s Advent!
What are we waiting for?
We are waiting for a baby.
A baby who will show us the way back to you O, Lord.
Who will show us how to love you.
It’s Advent, what are we waiting for?
We are waiting for the Prince of Peace.
For the second Advent which will usher in the new age
When love will reign.
It’s Advent, what are we waiting for?
We are waiting for the Kingdom of God
to become a reality in our lives and our world.
When your love
Shines through us
For the salvation of all.
It’s Advent, what are we waiting for?
We are waiting for that moment when strangers call to one another “Happy Christmas”.
When a momentary peace leads to a game of football in no man’s land.
Advent, the anticipation of peace and goodwill from God to earth
When your love unites us across the barriers we have made.
It’s Advent, what are we waiting for?
For the fulfilment of our prayer:
let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me
