The Church
HEBREWS 10:24-25
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,
not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing,
but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
t’s not an easy thing for regular church attenders to grasp, when asked to think of Church as extending much further than an organised association of people focused around a building and a service on a Sunday. The Church or the Kirk is really about a community of people focused and living in communion with Jesus. When we think of church from that perspective we begin to understand the possibilities of Sanctuary First as a nurturing resource and community for those who have left the buildings behind but not the church.
Lord,
I often wonder what you think of us
I mean
The church,
Your family
The people who call you -
Father
Caught up in so many controversies
Divided over opinions as to right and wrong
Different groups declaring UDI
Standing apart on a principle
Brothers and sisters
Missing on a Sunday
Missing one another
All of us silently
Hurting
Wishing things could change
Singing your praises
Reading your Word
Praying for unity
Longing for revival
Knowing
We’ve truly got ourselves into a fankle
Come Holy Spirit
Untangle our mess
Reshape our minds
Restore our faith
Let hope return
Renew our love
For one another
