Thank You For Living in Our Story

Psalm 103 1-8

Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
bless his holy name!

Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits,

who forgives all your iniquity,
who heals all your diseases,

who redeems your life from the pit,
who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,

who satisfies you with good
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.

The Lord works righteousness
and justice for all who are oppressed.

He made known his ways to Moses,
his acts to the people of Israel.

The Lord is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.

Lord,
I need you to know|
I feel so privileged
I don’t deserve Your loving kindness
I struggle to understand why you have blessed me
You have given me so much
If I were to name your blessings out loud
I would sound smug to those around me
While others might think I‘m being boastful
But how can I keep silent
In the face of such generosity
Your goodness and mercy has followed me all my life
You have lived in my family story throughout the generations
One generation has told the next of your grace and forgiveness
And one generation after another has believed for themselves
Thank you for the struggles of faith and doubt|
These struggles have made me stronger
Thank you for godly parents
Thank you for loving children
Thank you for caring friends

Lord
Thank you for shaping my life
For being part of our family story
Give me the grace to live in such away
that I pass on the faith to the next generation

Lord
Hear my prayer of thankfulness
I will risk being misunderstood among the cynics
So I sing of your love forever
