Tending the garden
GENESIS 2 v 13
Then the Lord God placed the man in the Garden of Eden to cultivate it and guard it.
Lord God we ask for guidance in tending the garden of our relationships, in holding it safe and keeping it well. We thank you especially for those who have looked after our friendship, those who have made contact when we have neglected it, those who have reached out to us when we have been hurting or ashamed. May we do the same for others, that we might find time for those who need our support and count it a privilege not a burden. May we understand the pain and vulnerability of those close to us and appreciate it as a gift, an opportunity to be strong for another. May we find it within ourselves to be open to others that they too might know the strength and experience the closeness that comes from being trusted in a relationship of care and support. May our garden be fruitful, abundant and full of song.
