Listen to this daily worship
Philippians 4: 8-9 (NRSVA)
8 Finally, beloved, whatever is true, whatever is honourable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. 9 Keep on doing the things that you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you.
We began this week finding time for a moment of stillness so that we might find time to slow down and spend time with God…
… and now, at the end of it, still thirsty for more, I’m not sure that I want to return to the world and my normal pace of life…
PRAYER:
Time slows
Noises dim
And our focus shifts.
We remember all that you have done for us…
And what you offer us Lord,
Our lips twitch upwards at the edges into a smile…
At the wonder of Emmanuel
And our hearts swell
As your love refills and floods
Every nook and cranny of our beings.
Hope revives
As once again memories of you and your promises
Quicken within us
Pregnant with possibility.
Lord,
Birth in my life the fruit of your love,
May the peace that I have glimpsed
In the moments of this week
Come to reside within me…
Grow this thirst within me,
That I may long for this time,
This filling, this peace,
Not just in this Advent season,
But in every season.
Grow in me, as I grow in you,
That I may overflow with your hope
With your love,
With your joy,
And with your peace,
Birthing more of your kingdom wherever I go.
Let it be so
Amen.
