Rejoicing in harmony
Listen to this daily worship
Isaiah 56: 7-8 (NIV)
7 these I will bring to my holy mountain
and give them joy in my house of prayer.
Their burnt offerings and sacrifices
will be accepted on my altar;
for my house will be called
a house of prayer for all nations.”
8 The Sovereign Lord declares—
he who gathers the exiles of Israel:
“I will gather still others to them
besides those already gathered.”
Many church buildings remain closed during the current pandemic, and we are learning to be the Church in other ways. One great lesson learned is that the family of God spreads far and wide, and we are part of that family.
Ours is a blended family, with richness in diversity. It is a family that transcends language and culture and nationality. What depth of joy is experienced through our family of faith! There is room for all, and so the blessings each one brings are endlessly extended.
“Bind us together, Lord, bind us together
with cords that cannot be broken.
Bind us together, Lord, bind us together,
O bind us together with love.” (Bind Us Together - Bob Gillman)
PRAYER:
We thank you, Loving God, for the worldwide web of relationships that enriches life and faith. May respect for one another lead us to celebrate our differences and rejoice in our harmony. Amen.
