Luke 24: 30-34

30 When he was at table with them, he took the bread and blessed and broke it and gave it to them. 31 And their eyes were opened, and they recognised him. And he vanished from their sight. 32 They said to each other, “Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road, while he opened to us the Scriptures?” 33 And they rose that same hour and returned to Jerusalem. And they found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together, 34 saying, “The Lord has risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!” 35 Then they told what had happened on the road, and how he was known to them in the breaking of the bread.

Lord,
I can identify with these men.
Trying to make sense of resurrection
At last they recognise you.
They are overcome,with emotion
Shear delight astonishment and joy, flows into their hearts.
They’re ready to ask more question of you.
Ready to make a night of it  to be sure
To have more evidence - but the next thing is,
You’re gone.
Moved on

Why do you vanish from our sight so easily?
We recognise you then your gone.
Is it something we do?
Is it something we say?
Is it simply enough for a brief moment that we see the picture?
Perhaps we’re not ready to take on more.
Eternity in a time frame must surely be an impossibility.
I guess its more than enough to have;
your joy
your peace
your presence
your promise.
