Praises to sing
Matthew 5:3
“You’re blessed when you’re at the end of your rope. With less of you there is more of God and his rule.”
I first met John when I was Chaplain to the Homeless Community in Glasgow. He had been sleeping rough for about 30 years. As a boy he had been sexually abused and as a young man he had spent 12 years in the army – two common strands among homeless men. John loved to sing and each night before he snuggled into his sleeping bag in some doorway he would sing a hymn as his way of praising God. Each morning when he woke he thanked God for bringing him safely through the night.
Lord, today brings – praises to sing.
