Revelation 21: 1

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth.  The first heaven and the first earth disappeared, and the sea vanished.  And I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared and ready, like a bride dressed to meet her husband.

The doors of opportunity open up before us.
The gateway to hope swings wide to urge us on.

God of all hopefulness,
give me an eagerness to discover new horizons.
Grant me an open heart, ready to receive the dawn of a new day.
In all my relationships let respect and graciousness temper my own desire.
Transform my outlook, my dreams and my actions
with Christ as my teacher
and your loving Spirit as my guide.
Amen.
