Mondays
Psalm 90: 12
Teach us to number our days,
that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
Monday is often looked upon as the least popular of weekdays among those who are in employment. Most of us look forward to the weekend, when Monday comes around we hope it will somehow disappear. Trying to re-engage our brains into a work mode after an enjoyable weekend is always difficult.
Perhaps we need to rethink of Mondays as not so much something to dread, but as an opportunity to see things in a different light. All over the world today thousands of people wish they could work and enjoy the fruit of their labour. For them there is no enjoyable weekend, nor a work blues Monday.
Almighty eternal Father
I know I must frustrate You
Who am I to ask questions of You - the Almighty?
Yet, You have given me the ability
To talk of eternity - to even conceive of the idea
But never to fully understand Your eternal purposes
You exist out with time
I exist in time
My days are numbered
Yet I live as though my days and time were endless
Teach me how to live out my days in gratitude
Forgive me when I have over- looked
The potential of each day
When I have wasted time
Lived for tomorrow
And ignored the potential of the present
Eternal Father
Give me the insight
And the wisdom to make each day count
Especially Mondays
