Marks of a well lived life
1Corinthians 13:7
Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.
Love doesn’t strut,
Doesn’t have a swelled head,
Doesn’t force itself on others,
Isn’t always “me first,”
Doesn’t fly off the handle,
Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn’t revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end.
Lord, when I look into your heart I see many things.
You are Holy, Just, Unchangeable and Eternal.
I rejoice in your Godness and celebrate your Goodness.
When I look into my heart I see a temple of your presence.
You have exchanged the ugliness of my life with the beauty of yours.
Jesus – you live within me. Your love is my love.
Thank you for spreading your love through me to an impatient world.
Thank you for spreading your kindness through me in a harsh world.
It’s your ways Jesus and it’s your ministry and I am part of this revolution of love.
If there were Oscars for a well lived life – you would win every time.
You are God and you make me complete as I live in you. Amen.
