Letting go and finding a new life story

Rev 21:1-6

A New Heaven and a New Earth

1 Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bridebeautifully dressed for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

5 He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

6 He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life.

The art of letting go.

Rev 21:1-6.  Verse 4: the old order has passed away

I now live my life in the context of his story, not his life in the context of my story.
I once asked Jesus in to my life, and I am now asked by God into his life. Will I accept?
Finally I find myself being part of the new creation story, that I am part of something that is eternal. I am living in the context of God’s story rather than God living in the context of my story.

Prayer:

Father,
Thank you that as I let go of my life and my life story, I find a new one, your one. Thank you for the newness, hope and promise I find in that story.  Thank you for inviting me to be part of your story of reconciliation and new creation. By your grace teach me what this means.
AS you do your work in me help me to begin to see the work you would have me do.
Thank you.
Amen
