Let us Celebrate
Psalm 42:4
These things I remember,
as I pour out my soul:
how I went with the throng,
and led them in procession to the house of God,
with glad shouts and songs of thanksgiving,
a multitude keeping festival.
Balloons and bubbles
Kites and streamers
Flags and ribbons
The colours of the rainbow
Woven in the sky of blue.
Cheers and drumbeats
Songs and laughter
Hoots and trumpets
The cacophony of sound
Threads joy through the air.
Prodigal Father,
You gave us this world, and its bounty,
To enjoy in all its abundance.
Your grace is a deluge which floods us
Beyond our understanding;
Beyond our perception;
Beyond our deserving.
You invite us in to your Holy House;
Sacred Space,
Yet open to us
Without restraint.
(With muddy footprints,
Grasping hands
And veiled vision … yet)
We are welcome.
So let us Celebrate!
Revel!
Rejoice!
In your miraculous generosity!
Let us sing
… ecstatically!
Let us dance
… blissfully!
Let us love
… extravagantly!
And this for your pleasure
In fulfilment of our great purpose
To love you
And praise you forever!
