Heads held high
Leviticus 26:12-13
I will walk among you and be your God, and you will be my people. I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt so that you would no longer be slaves to the Egyptians; I broke the bars of your yoke and enabled you to walk with heads held high
“I led them with cords of human kindness, with ties of love; I lifted the yoke from their neck and bent down to feed them” [Hosea 11:4]
Lord, how often my head drops when adversity strikes
and how often I need to be reminded of times past
when you lifted me up.
Enable me again,
right here, right now,
to walk with my head held high,
knowing that I am not walking alone;
for you are among us
and together we are your people
and you are our God.
