Great and Precious

2 Peter 1:4

​“And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.”

​“Great and precious promises!”

Lord, dealing with other human beings like myself,

as I do,

I am all too often aware 

that some promises

are not worth the paper they are written on.

But your promises are not only great and precious

they are utterly reliable…

because of who you are.

I know I can trust you

because of Jesus.

He stayed true to the bitter end

until it became the bright new beginning.
