Dignity of work
Gen 1:26-27
Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. ……………………………………..
John 5:17(ESV)
But Jesus answered them, “My Father is working until now, and I am working.”
Lord Jesus
Thank you for the dignity you give to work.
That the Father and you Lord, are always at work.
And in working I join with you
in the dignity of creating,
of caring,
of leading
and of serving.
All aspects of work have dignity with your stamp of approval,
as you create and care,
as you yourself lead and serve.
Thank you that your shalom is for the whole person,
not just mind or spirit, but in all that we are and what we do.
Thank you that as we care for people,
care for creation,
enhance the lives of others in whatever dimension,
we partner with You.
As I work today,
in whatever I do, may I be conscious of the dignity that you gave work.
Amen
