Declaring the marvel!
Listen to this daily worship
Psalm 96: 3-4 (NRSVA)
3
Declare his glory among the nations,
his marvellous works among all the peoples.4
For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised;
he is to be revered above all gods.
I wonder if you have ever realised that God desires you to declare Him everywhere? Yes, not just at church on a Sunday. Everywhere and every day.
When your eyes first open in the morning, declare him. When you stir your morning cuppa, declare him. When you’re doing the hoovering, declare him. When you’ve lost your keys and you’re late for work, declare him. When you’re in a boring meeting, declare him. When you’re having your lunch, declare him. When you’re drowsily desperate for finishing time, declare him. When you’re cutting the lawn, declare him. When you are preparing for your family, declare him. When you’re spending time with friends, declare him. When you’re on your evening walk, declare him. When you play with your pets, declare him. When you sink into a hot bath, declare him. When you close your eyes, declare him. Never stop declaring him, Christian.
I think we’ve forgotten to declare him in every twist of our life, in every bump and hump of the daily grind. So, I’m just staying simple today friends: Declare him over everything you do, everything you take part in, everything from the moment you open your eyes, ‘til you close them at night, declare him!
Prayer:
Father, we declare you
Jesus, we declare you
Spirit, we declare you.
Your song is fresh like the day
Your mercy new each morning
You are the beginning, the middle, the end,
the forever
So may I praise your name always
that every part of me will declare you.
Amen.
